I’ve been using the 1.6rc for a while, simply for the WildFire component, which is superb.
Looking forward to complete tutorials on Zend_Test for unit testing beginners.

why?

As per my un-answered comment in the RC1 blog entry – where is your email subscription list for notifications?!
I reckon 90% of people out there would want this – a simple email subscription service that tells you when a new release is available – plenty of other people do it.
Still, looking forward to trying out 1.6

@jdunmore
They have a great RSS feed for exactly for this.

That I have to register to comment is unusual for an OSS project, but also not heard of and generally ok with me. Everybody takes different approaches to prevent spam. But to download the documentation in PDF one also needs to register? Thats just taking the marketing a bit too far.

Sorry, but I don’t have the time or inclination to review an RSS feed periodically in the hope that one of the items will be notification of a new version.
All major software projects worth their weight have email announcement lists, why should we adhere to a different set of rules for Zend and check an RSS feed?

Hi,
I have to agree with jdunmore. Although I visit this site quite often, it typically seems that a new release is made available at times when I don’t visit for a few days. As was already stated, a simple email notification would be great. I’d rather not have to poll…and since I love to see new updates to ZF, finding out that it’s been out for a few days is quite annoying.
That’s my two cents….

Hi,
I accidentally stumbled across this:
http://framework.zend.com/wiki/display/ZFDEV/Contributing+to+Zend+Framework#ContributingtoZendFramework-Subscribetotheappropriatemailinglists
So it does exist, just not widely advertised – think it would be helpful to put this link on this blog posts.
