DevNetStore is a budding e-commerce open source application in planning. It’s being built on top of the Zend Framework under the GPL License and we’re currently working on gathering requirements (which is also why we’ll soon have an Agile User-Story Manager built on the ZF too – since there’s not much out there in open source XP PM since XPSwiki went AWOL). Maybe we’ll all invest in Mingle when it finally arrives!

Magento is the open-source eCommerce platform that promises to revolutionize the industry. It’s modular architecture and unprecedented flexibility means your business is no longer constrained by your eCommerce platform. Magento is total control.

Scoutpad is a new and cool virtual whiteboard implemented on the Zend Framework, it’s objectives are to help collaboration and coordination web2.0 style.

I don’t understand why you made the effort to lay these items out so nicely: the majority of them don’t even have a web-page set up; they have an empty directory at SourceForge, and most of the remainders are nothing more than a page saying something like "We look forward to having lots of members to make this vision come true." This isn’t to diss their efforts … but it’s pointless to go through a long list of those.

FWIW: Octane, Luta, and Teknologiawhatevuh are making credible efforts and have some sort of presence in place.

(In short: this is very low quality blogging; a bit more effort would actually generate some value. I think this item deserves a full re-write.)

*tweeet!*

Sorry, but I have to agree with bentremblay’s comment. The 17-project short list sounds wonderful, but is completely useless at this point.

To add insult to injury, it appears the the comments are ignored, for it’s almost the end of July and nobody even cared to clean up the broken links. Truly disappointing …

I agree… where’s the code?

A bit too much hype and not enough content, claiming that you’re going to ‘revolutionise’ the industry is a risky statement to make, to say the least.

Enough vapourware, what about some real projects where there’s actually some code written! What makes it worse is that there are broken links and no evidence of much activity on these projects, it can hardly even be called a project if it’s still at the discussion phase!

Veneer is a CMS built using Zend Framework and YUI.

Zend Framework is an incredible base for any CMS. The only problem is that it has too many options. You could roll your own each time but I think it is better to work from a higher level base.

Veneer is supposed to be that base with an easy to use module integration system. If you don’t like my approach, you can just take the code and roll your own better CMS.

Installation and configuration utilities are not that great yet. The blog is probably the most interesting so you can see where I am going with this.

I build an open source content management system based on ZF.

Please, make a simple effort to check submitted software that use ZF have at least ONE release because a lot of projects at sourceforge are without any downloadable files.

I found that phpYabs is based on Symfony, but not on ZendFramework. So, there is some mistake in phpYabs description.

http://www.flataccounting.net is an accounting program designed to help you split costs that was written entirely on the Zend Framework. It uses the framework’s MVC architecture as well as other components such as Zend_ACL.

Most of the links have no software. Can anyone give link to working software so we can see the code ? I am thinking of moving from CI to ZF, but there is no class for FTP like in CI ?

ZFCNS is not an active projcet – Or is a projcet without any activity.

For a ZF newbie like me it would be nice if only valid projects is listed.

Thanks in advance.

you could donate to empty or unfinished or senseless projects in all cases via sourceforge. -> I’m joking!

See lots of projects are unfinished that way. Lot’s of them inside sourceforge. But you can allways check the activity-list in there to find the most active.
What I do since years, is analysing them, taking projects over to use parts or ideas out of them. I finished and translated those kinds of projects and learned a lot about other codings and coders.

So the critism is not related to ZEND, you will find it all over the NET by unfinished sites and also projects. Zend framework itself will help to code complex applications with role–management, database-management and so on.
(I’m not from ZEND) This will raise your skill and speed.

Come on guys. Do less and make it better. I keep looking at this framework and always get hungup on what stuff is free…what is charge..which is useful and what is junk. The junk and fog level is very high here.

… but still able to be usefull by someone as an example:
