Todays special guest is ME! Most people don't know this but I spent the majority of the last 10 years building and managing development teams. Along the way I've picked up a few truths, mainly stolen from people like Joel Spolsky. Some of these ideas can be found in an article I wrote a while ago titled "Nerd Herding", a link to which can be found in the show notes.
Recently, I've had many people ask me variations of the same question, "How do I find talented programmers?" So today, I'm going to share with you some of the things I've learned.

Great tips, and well-delivered.
The "no cube farms" rule is echoed, with lots of other good information about development team management, in De Marco and Lister's "Peopleware".

Thanks for the good podcast!
Hi Paul!
Yep, that’s where I originally read it, however, it’s also a lesson I’ve learned through experience. It still amazes me that even though there is hard evidence that cube farms suck for software development, I still see companies using them. :(
Thanks for the comment!

And nice update with the player.
