QUALITY ASSURANCE?

I really like to watch / listen to the ZendCon sessions but this one is just bad. She says almost nothing that is not written down on the pdfs and speaks way to fast (that's my opinion). The second thing is, that I wouldn't recommend zencart to anybody - not even a shop with only one sale in a year. Did you check the sources? It could probably win the "worst piece of code" award :/

I just want to say it might make sense to verifiy the sessions before releasing them to the public.

Hi Daniel and thanks for your comment. I'm sorry you didn't get a lot out of the session, and I do understand where you're coming from -- keep in mind this was tailored more for a corporate audience as opposed to a developer. The main thing I was hoping to convey was that there are many other uses for PHP in an e-commerce setting than JUST a shopping cart. My apologies if I spoke too fast; that was not my intent.

Regarding your opinion of ZC's code; nothing is perfect most definitely, but compared to the other alternatives currently available, in my opinion it is one of the best. Considering there are over 1500 shops actively using the app (as listed in ZC's showcase) I'd say that at least one of those is making more than one sale per year without any trouble ;). If you have a better suggestion, I'd love to hear it, as I'm always open to exploring our options. (And yes I do know about Magento).

GREAT SESSION

I just wanted to say that my boss sent me to ZendCon last October with a goal of taking sessions that related to the fulfillment system we're developing. I found this talk to be one of the more valuable talks at the conference as it relates to the task I have at hand. Also, there are a lot of good concepts in the talk that can be applied with or without ZenCart. I'll definitely pass this link on to my boss.

GREAT PRESENTATION

I thought this was a great presentation and covered not only the technical aspects and business aspects of the content.

One point that the guys did at the PHPLondon08 conference that ZendCon might want to look at is having roving microphones for questions. That way the listeners can enjoy the questions as well as the answers.

Thanks for putting the ZendCon sessions up - they are excellent.
