As part of an ongoing effort to give PHP developers new tools and new markets to explore, Zend and SAP are reviewing upgrading the Netweaver PHP connector. In order to determine what functionality is important we’ve created this cool survey. If you are a SAP user and interested in PHP integration make your voice heard. The same applies for PHP developers who are facing new challenges connecting PHP applications to SAP.

I blogged about this dilemma nearly a year ago on the SAP Developer Community website (http://www.sdn.sap.com) in a short post that can be found here - https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/weblogs?blog=/pub/wlg/6571
I am very excited to see that Zend are keen to forge more integration between PHP and SAP.
I believe if there was a connector that had the backing of SAP and Zend it would benefit both communities.

I assume this is SAPRFC. I would like 64bit and unicode support.
I also would like better support for data types. At least I have problems with negative numerics.
At my company we have built a data warehouse with PHP and MySQL. And we use SAPRFC for SAP integration. Every night we are downloading zillions of megabyte SAP data. Production planning in three factories and marketing are very dependent of PHP, SAPRFC and MySQL. The data warehouse application responds to about 15000 queries per day.
