DVD Wallet Covers via PHP and Amazon Web Services
I read a lot of blogs every morning. (I mean I read a LOT of blogs every morning) and sometimes I come across cool stuff. Today I found a real gem.
J Wynia has written a little piece of code and offered to share it with the rest of us. He recently mashed together Amazon’s Web API and a little PHP code. What he got was a service that he uses to print DVD covers that he keeps in DVD wallets. Here is the complete story so you can get the scoop straight from him.
Some will hold this up as a “Mashup”, an example of where the web is going. Extracting useful information from existing data streams, re-purposing it to create a new value proposition.
Some will see this as a real-world example of how PHP can be used to solve practical problems.
Me, I just see a guy who had an itch and needed something to scratch it with. To me, that’s what it’s all about.
