Approximately 9 years ago, Israel Ekpo fell in love “big time” with computer applications, especially the web-based and data-driven ones, and the mechanisms responsible for their functionality.
He eventually found himself spending a lot of time reading books on computer programming, database design, network security and web applications development.
He eventually founded his first Web Development firm PerfectVista Technologies, Inc. where he also works as a freelance technical consultant with concentrations in Web Applications Development and Database design/administration.
In April 2006, Ekpo became the first Web Applications Developer from Miami-Dade County to become a Zend Certified Engineer. Later that year, he moved to Boca Raton, Florida to work for World Avenue, a leading Internet Marketing Firm in the country, as a Web Applications Developer.
He enjoys working with Open Source technologies like Linux, Apache, MySQL and PHP. Besides English and his native Nigerian language Ibibio, Israel also speaks and writes fluently in PHP.
