Many moons ago, at the tender age of 14, Cal touched his first computer. (We’re using the term “computer” loosely here, it was a TRS-80 Model 1) Since then his life has never been the same. He graduated from TRS-80s to Commodores and eventually to IBM PC’s.
For the past 7 years Cal has worked with PHP and MySQL on Linux OSX, and when necessary, Windows. He has built on a variety of projects ranging in size from simple web pages to multi-million dollar web applications. When not banging his head on his monitor, attempting a blood sacrifice to get a particular piece of code working, he enjoys building and managing development teams using his widely imitated but never patented management style of “management by wandering around”.
Cal is currently based in Utrecht, Netherlands his day as the Director of the PCE for Ibuildings.com.
Cal is happily married to wife 1.25, the lovely and talented Kathy. Together they have 2 kids who are infinitely more intelligent but not nearly as entertaining as his two dogs, Sparky and Linus.
Cal blogs at http://blog.calevans.com.

Just stumbled accorss the article "Recursion in PHP: tapping unharnessed power" (http://devzone.zend.com/node/view/id/1235) which claims the author is Robert Peake but when you click on the link, this is were you land. A bit irritating if you want to get in touch with the author (that was the case, but my problem has since been (dis)solved). Thought I'd leave a message to let you know ...
I read a lot about PHP and other web technologies. One of them are the weekly summaries here on the Zend site.
But the last one is of january. Can you tell me what happened to them? Are they coming back or.....
Your sincerely,
Maren van Urk
ps. keep up the good work :) you doing a great job on Devzone.
I first like to thank you for a very explicit tutorial ,
Im new at PHP dough I have some experince with other programing (Visual Fox, R-Base, Clipper, Etc).
It seems like many of your dicples (me icluded) are having problem when triying to run your sample code, specifically lesson two. If you can find some time to answer some of the comments on this lesson I for one will be eternally greatfull. It some what confusing when you read something and think you understood and when you try to run the code it fails.
Thanks in advance for your help with this matter and Thanks agian for a otherwise very well writen tutorial.
