Just before everybody (in the US) bailed for the Thanksgiving holidays, I got together with Danny Kolke, Ahmad Baitalmal of Etelos. as we gathered around the virtual water cooler to talk shop. It was recorded and now has been posted for all to listen to. “podcast hosted by
I met Danny (CEO), Ahmad (CTO), along with Eric Berto and the lovely Katie Hoffman (fellow Marketroids) at Web 2.0 Summit this year. They were nice to me and let me hang out with them when I wasn’t in session. It was fun because they are PHP folk too so we sat around and talked shop.
On the podcast we talked about Zend, PHP5 and Etelos’ EASE programming language. For those of you not familiar with Etelos, here is a quick blurb from their web site.
Etelos provides open source, on-demand Web 2.0 applications on the hosting environment that you choose. The Etelos Ecosystem for developing and deploying on-demand applications is revolutionizing the world of software distribution; you can install an application today and then get the source code to customize and mold that application to fit your unique business needs. On the Etelos Store, developers can sell applications, businesses can try applications and Internet service providers can offer hosting services; in one Ecosystem with all the features of software as a service (SaaS) and all the flexibility of custom development.
