FWIW: Octane, Luta, and Teknologiawhatevuh are making credible efforts and have some sort of presence in place.
(In short: this is very low quality blogging; a bit more effort would actually generate some value. I think this item deserves a full re-write.)

To add insult to injury, it appears the the comments are ignored, for it's almost the end of July and nobody even cared to clean up the broken links. Truly disappointing ...
Enough vapourware, what about some real projects where there's actually some code written! What makes it worse is that there are broken links and no evidence of much activity on these projects, it can hardly even be called a project if it's still at the discussion phase!

Zend Framework is an incredible base for any CMS. The only problem is that it has too many options. You could roll your own each time but I think it is better to work from a higher level base.
Veneer is supposed to be that base with an easy to use module integration system. If you don't like my approach, you can just take the code and roll your own better CMS.
Installation and configuration utilities are not that great yet. The blog is probably the most interesting so you can see where I am going with this.

For a ZF newbie like me it would be nice if only valid projects is listed.
Thanks in advance.
See lots of projects are unfinished that way. Lot's of them inside sourceforge. But you can allways check the activity-list in there to find the most active.
What I do since years, is analysing them, taking projects over to use parts or ideas out of them. I finished and translated those kinds of projects and learned a lot about other codings and coders.
So the critism is not related to ZEND, you will find it all over the NET by unfinished sites and also projects. Zend framework itself will help to code complex applications with role--management, database-management and so on.
(I'm not from ZEND) This will raise your skill and speed.
