Zend gets the Redherring nod

RedHerring Magazine, the battle-scarred survivor of the bubble and bust, has announced the 9 finalists in the inaugural Israeli Start-up Contest sponsored by the Israel Venture Association.

The 9 finalists are:

  • Amimon
  • Axerra Networks
  • Discretix
  • BrainsGate
  • Deep Breeze
  • Mazor Surgical Technologies
  • BeInSync
  • Itemfield
  • Zend Technologies

The article, (available in the June 19th issue on newsstands now or purchase a digital copy here.) goes on to describe Zend as

Zend Technologies founders Andi Gutmans and Zeev Suraski did not invent Personal Home Page, an open-source scripting language used to create dynamic web applications, but few would argue that they deserve credit for its growing popularity. Their development tool, Zend Studio, is widely used by developers writing PHP applications.

While each of the 9 companies listed are profiled in the magazine, the only one worth reading is this one. (Oh fine, the other profiles are listed in the article.)

Congratulations to Andi, Zeev and all my fellow Zend employees!
