Zend to Host the Fourth Annual Zend/PHP Conference and Expo

Zend Technologies, The PHP Company, announced today that registration is open for the fourth annual Zend/PHP Conference and Expo, the world’s largest gathering of the PHP community. Leading PHP experts, professional PHP developers, and business managers will convene September 15 – 18 at the Santa Clara Convention Center in Santa Clara, California.

Upcoming Zend Webinars

Every week, my good friend Nili arranges a free Webinar for anyone who wants to learn more about PHP. These webinars are always interesting and if they didn’t keep me so busy attending conferences (or planning them) I’d be at more of them. Here’s a list of the ones that are coming in the next couple of months. Since she works so hard putting these together, I know you are going to want to spare an hour every week or so and attend.

Dutch PHP TestFest Announced

Stefan Koopmanschap just twittered and blogged that the Dutch PHP TestFest 2008 has been announced. (Annocunement is in Dutch, insert Babelfish to continue)

Zend Framework - The Big Q&A

It has been almost a year since the 1.0 release of Zend Framework. In that time we’ve seen some of the most trafficked sites in the world deployed on ZF, many popular enterprise-oriented projects built with ZF, and some of the greatest times ever had (while coding) using ZF. Since our community has been so great in giving back to the project, we decided it’s the Zend Framework team’s turn to find a new way to give back.

IBuildings/Sogeti PHP Business Seminar

I’ve just returned from my second trip to the Netherlands and, as with the first one, I had a wonderful time. This time, I was honored to speak at the PHP Business Seminar put on as a joint project by IBuildings and Sogeti.

Zend/PHP Conference and Expo '08 Call for Papers now open!

It’s that time of year again, ZendCon is getting close and we are now accepting papers for consideration.

OSBC Wrapup

One of the great perks of my job is that I get to attend a lot of conferences. Most of the time they are PHP conference and I get to hang with the coolest development community on earth. Sometimes, I get to go to a conferences that is a little out of my comfort zone, OSBC was just such a conference.

Zend_Layout and Zend _View Enhancements Webinar

Just as we strive for optimal reuse, organization, and clarity in our code on the backend of a web application, it’s just as important to maintain those same tenets with respect to the view layer or “design & presentation” side of a project. The problem of maintaining a consistent look and feel while encouraging best practices is what Zend_Layout, as well as the Zend Framework 1.5 Zend_View enhancements, attempt to solve.

Win a copy of Zend Studio at PHP Quebec 2008.

Conference season is in full swing! SDWest was very interesting and now I’m home long enough to recharge the laptop before heading out to PHP Quebec. Let’s make things interesting at PHP Quebec and give away a copy of Zend Studio.

SDWest Update

SDWest is one of the big events in the software industry. There are sessions covering just about everything…except PHP. Even so, there are some great sessions going on here this week and I’ll be sharing with you about what I see. I’m also here because DevZone is up for a Jolt award along with Zend Framework. If you are in the area, the awards ceremony is free, just register for an Expo pass and show up tonight (Wednesday) and cheer us on.
