It's time to kick 2011 off with a bang. Tomorrow, Friday and Saturday (January 20th, 21st, and 22nd) we will be hosting our monthly bug-hunt. For those of you unfamiliar with the event, each month, we organize the community to help reduce the number of open issues reported against the framework. So, if you haven't already planned to take some time to get involved, now's the time. Bounce on over to your bosses cube and have him carve out some time to bug-hunt with us!

The second annual PHPBenelux Conference is taking place on January 28 and 29 at the same location as last year: Hotel Ter Elst in Edegem (Antwerp, Belgium). We were able to secure an awesome schedule with three tracks, 1.5 days of conference and a tutorial morning. We hope to see you again in Antwerp!

We are actively recruiting participants to take place in a developer event (“Dev Derby”) that pits one language against others. It is a day-long programming challenge where teams of developers work to create an application serving a real-world need. Five teams will represent different programming languages—PHP, C#, Ruby, ColdFusion, and Java—to produce a demo application that will be released as open source software.
