Just four months after the 1.1 release, the symfony team is proud to announce the immediate availability of symfony 1.2.
As always, it comes with a lot of exciting new features like full Doctrine support, or a new admin generator that
takes full advantages of the form framework introduced in symfony 1.1.
Of course, as for every symfony release, symfony 1.2 also comes with a full year of maintenance and full documentation.
Speaking of documentation, you have probably heard about the askeet tutorial,
a set of 24 tutorials, which was published day-by-day between December 1st and Christmas 2005.
This tutorial has proven to be an invaluable tool to promote the symfony framework to newcomers.
To celebrate the symfony 1.2 release, the symfony team publishes yet another advent calendar tutorial this year: Jobeet.
Like askeet, Jobeet is a set of 24 tutorials to help developers learn the main symfony 1.2 features and best practices.
As the Jobeet tutorial has been written for symfony beginners, the only requirements are a good knowledge of PHP5 and Object Oriented programming.
The “day one” tutorial has already been published on December 1st and
every day including week-ends, a new tutorial will be published on the symfony blog.
